Description
The new C-81 Laguna from Post Audio’s California Series is a slightly scaled back (and less expensive) version of our much beloved C-7P studio mic. For the new C-81 we dispensed with the C-7P’s gold plated hardware but kept the important part, the 32mm 24k gold sputtered diaphragm, as used in the best microphones in the world. It sounds just as great as ever and we have also added a new 6db bass rolloff switch. And of course it now comes in this Ventura Red finish with matching shock mount.
The C-81 is known for its uncolored sound. All microphones have a certain sound due to uneven frequency response. Often inexpensive condenser mics have a harsh overly bright sound with hyped high frequencies, for instance. Other mics may have a darker sound that might be great for certain voices but not others. The C-81’s have a relatively even response through all frequencies, which makes them useful for pretty much everything; both male and female vocals, drums, acoustic guitars, guitar amps, horns.
